About the Brand

Founded in 1945 in Paris, France, by Céline Vipiana and her husband Richard, Celine began as a made-to-measure children’s shoe shop. They then branched out into women’s high end ready-to-wear and eventually exclusive Italian-made leather accessories and goods including handbags, gloves, belts, and wallets. The brand became global in the 1970s and replaced their elephant logo with an intertwined double C design known as the Blazon Chaine, reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe.
